As I seldomly take time to draw or to practice, I tried to get used to having a little moleskine with me and just scribble what comes to my head when I have a free moment.
Soon I started sketching up people when I was out in the city, outline ideas, or even try to capture moments and scenes. Surprisingly, it works very well, and the books start to fill up fast.

Afraid of more dusted up piles of drawings I’ll forget, I decided to start putting those online. So here are a few selections from last months sketchbook.

During my apprenticeship I’m having two months of trade school every year to… ehrm, complete my formation. Though it’s a strange feeling to find myself at school again after over 1 1/2 years, it’s kinda fun. Amusing, so to say.
Before I started, most of my colleagues and friends kept telling me “don’t bother, trade school is like sleeping all day and listening to the teacher for an hour a day if he actualy teaches anything at all”. I always thought of it as exagerated and dramatized, until I had to find out - it’s not.

Beside learning things I think to recall from groundschool (like how to write a letter and stuff like that), we’re doing the most basics of the basics in programs I’ve been working with since I’m 15. Here and there there is an interesting bit of information I didn’t know before but that’s really it. It’s plain boring and in the meantime I don’t even know who is less interested in actual education - the students or the teachers themself.

Although, there’s one great thing about trade school that compensates for everything else - Everyone of us has a sweet little iMac, and our teacher actually like the students to work on their own. In other words, I think I didn’t have as much time to experiment and draw for myself since last May! I’ve started spending 6-10h of work on single pieces and finally have the time to put down all the ideas that flow through my head. I’ve already finished some illustrations, so heres the first release:

There’s still more to come, but commissions first - In the next weeks I’m gonna release most of the Artwork I’ve been working in the last time, then I might finally find time to blog a little more.
